Denver, CO – The Colorado Democratic Party is demanding that Republicans involved with throwing out three Denver Democrats at President Bush’s faux town hall meeting disclose the name of the individual who threatened them with arrest.
"This is a serious situation that requires full disclosure,” said Pat Waak, Chair of the Colorado Democratic Party. “This was a public event and the public deserves to know who was responsible for kicking citizens out of the event.”
Colorado Democratic leaders have voiced their concern over the events that took place during President Bush’s town hall meeting. Congresswoman Diana DeGette, Congressman Mark Udall, and Senator Ken Salazar have all requested that there be full disclosure from the Republicans about this violation of First Amendment rights.
"I hope Congressman Bob Beauprez and Congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave, whose offices distributed the tickets, will also make a formal request that the names of people involved be disclosed to the public,” said Waak.
"Democrats believe it is now up to the White House and local Republicans to clearly disclose what happened during President Bush’s meeting in Denver and identify all individuals involved. This matter will not be resolved until all the facts have been disclosed and the responsible parties have been held accountable. |
