Letter from Spencer Ross
Dear friends,
Wow, what an exciting couple of weeks. I've enjoyed my time as the
Interim Executive Director of the CDP and was thrilled yesterday to learn that
Sherry Jackson will be coming on as the new Executive Director. I look
forward to working with her and the State Party Officers in my role as Political
Director here at the Party and know that with the incredible staff we have built
up, we are in better shape then ever! Nationally, the
Democratic Party has pledged to take the Party out of Washington DC and put it
into the states, and we are doing the same thing. Over the next few
months, look for your State Party to be in your area with trainings, meetings,
and more! We have an incredibly ambitious agenda for this election cycle,
and every Democrat around the state plays a crucial role in the Democratic
Party's success. It's a great time to be a Democrat in
Colorado! Your Party is rolling towards victory once again in 2006 and I
know that all of us here are proud to be a part of the incredible momentum from
all around the state. Thank you, Spencer
Ross
In the Press
1. Equal Pay Day
April 19, 2005
The Colorado Democratic Party emailed a party advisory to Democrats across
the state in honor of Equal Pay Day. The Colorado Democratic Party wanted
to highlight the important issue of salary inequality that still exists in this
country, despite Equal Pay legislation.
The attached advisory contains valuable facts about pay statistics, sample
letters to the editor that can be used to write letters on this very important
issue, and information about what Democrats are doing or can do to address this
issue.

Day
2. Poll: Most Americans Believe that Republicans are Leading
American Down the Wrong Track
April 20, 2005
This press release focused on a poll conducted by CBS. The results of
this poll indicated that Americans, regardless of party affiliation, believe
that America is on the wrong track.
This press release looks at both the results of the President's job approval
ratings and the approval ratings of the Republican led Congress. Both the
President and the Republican Congress faired poorly in the poll. It is
clear that Americans are beginning to realize the full extent of the failed
Republican leadership.

3. Republicans Exploit Gas Prices to Push Inadequate Energy Bill
Through Congress
April 21, 2005
Democrats agree that President Bush and Republicans in Congress are
exploiting rising gas prices to force support for an inadequate energy bill.
This press release focuses on the fact that the energy bill does little to
lower the cost of gas, lower America's dependency on foreign oil, and does not
promote research into alternative energy sources. It is another example of
poor legislation sponsored by the Republicans in Washington.
If you are concerned about your environment, the cost of gas or the disregard
Republicans in Washington, DC have for sensible legislation you should read this
press release.
