Denver, Colorado

On Saturday, March 5, 2005 a new Chair was elected for the Colorado Democratic Party.  Pat Waak began working early Monday morning to “Open the CDP for Business”.  Pat Waak ran on the principles that the state party needed to be more aggressive, inclusive and return to the grassroots that made Democrats effective in the past.

“I am getting right to work.  The party is unified and focused and we have already begun creating our 2006 Victory Strategy,” said Waak.

A key element to the victory strategy is welcoming all individuals, groups and organizations that make up the Democratic Party to participate from day one building strong democratic communities across the state.  There is a commitment from the newly elected Democratic Officers that no campaign will be conceded and that Democrats across the state are going to “Show Up” to help fellow Democrats get elected.

“As the newly elected leader of the Democratic Party, I feel it is my role to share my vision, work with Democrats across the state to create a winning strategy and ultimately deliver Democratic Victories across the state in 2006,” said Waak.

The sentiment among Democrats throughout the state is that it is good to be a Democrat in Colorado because Democrats are doing what needs to be done to win elections.
