Greeley Selected for 2006 State Assembly
June 20, 2005
The Colorado Democratic Party announced on Monday, June 20, 2005 that the
Site Selection Committee unanimously voted to recommended Greeley, Colorado as
the host city for the 2006 State Assembly. The confirmation of the site will
occur during the State Executive Committee meeting on July, 9, 2005.

Beauprez Finds Himself Targeted in the DeLay Scandal
June 2, 2005
Recently accusations of unethical campaign practices by Majority Leader DeLay
have brought forth similar concerns about Congressman Bob Beauprez.
Congressman Bob Beauprez has received over $29,000 from Tom DeLay’s ARMPAC,
known as Americans for a Republican Majority Political Action Committee. The
House Ethics Committee found that DeLay used the ARMPAC to contribute funds to
several congressional races across the country, wanting in return a “yes” vote
on the Republican Medicare Bill that took place last year.

Helping Students Afford Higher Education
Students, Recent Grads Have Until July 1 to Lock in Lower Interest
Rates

If you’re a college student or recent college graduate, would you be willing
to spend a few minutes to save $6,000 or more? If your answer is yes, you have
until June 30 to find out if you are eligible to lock in lower interest rates on
your student loans. Otherwise, the next day, on July 1, interest rates on many
student loans will be increased.

John Salazar Votes to Prevent Intrusion into Personal
Records

Congressman John Salazar voted
yesterday to protect the right to privacy, supporting legislation to end
intrusion into private library and bookstore records. Salazar voted in favor of
the "Freedom to Read Amendment" to the House Commerce, Justice, State (CJS)
Appropriations bill, which if passed by the Senate and signed by the President,
will restore long standing legal standards of search and seizure and help
eliminate the federal government's intrusion into personal records.
