July 14, 2005 Denver, CO - Today Governor Howard Dean addressed over two hundred enthusiastic Democrats at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds.

Dean’s opening remarks rallied the large crowd. "Democrats in Colorado should be proud of their accomplishments in 2004," said Dean. "We have proven that Colorado is not a red state anymore."

Since being elected as Chairman of the Democratic National Committee, Governor Dean has been traveling across the country energizing Democrats to get active. Dean is committed to building a strong organization both on the national level and on the state level.

"The DNC has just funded four regional field positions for Colorado," said Dean. "These positions are going to be filled by qualified and diverse individuals who are committed to growing the Democratic base over the next four years."

Dean expressed the importance of creating a strong Democratic message that will resonate throughout the entire country.

"We need to share with people across the country that the Democratic message is one of morals, values and principles," said Dean. "It is our morals, values and principles that guide our party."

Dean concluded the speech with a word of advice to the guests.

"The Democratic Party is a unified group. And it is together that we will win in Colorado and across the nation."
