BEYOND DELAY: MARILYN MUSGRAVE ONE OF MOST CORRUPT MEMBERS OF CONGRESS

Denver, Colorado - Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) released a 93-page report entitled Beyond DeLay: The 13 Most Corrupt Members of Congress, documenting the activities of the most tainted Members of Congress. One of those members, representing the 4th Congressional Distrist, is Rep. Marilyn Musgrave (R-CO).

CREW accuses Rep. Musgrave of misusing official resources. In particular, the report suggests that the Congresswoman may be soliciting campaign contributions from her district office and using district office employees to staff her campaign office. If true, this overlap of employees violates federal law and the House of Representatives Standards on Office Conduct.

In addition, Rep. Musgrave may have misused franking privileges given to Members of Congress. She sent a letter on official stationary endorsing a local candidate. Federal law prohibts the use of franking privileges for campaign purposes.
