Colorado Democratic Party to launch "Take 5" program PDF Print E-mail

Denver, CO - On Tuesday, November 29, 2006, while President Bush is in town avoiding the escalating problems in Washington, the Colorado Democratic Party will be gathering at an evening reception "Celebrating Democratic Women" and will kick off our "Take 5" program. The reception is hosted by U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette; President of the State Senate, Joan Fitz-Gerald; Majority Leader of the State House, Rep. Alice Madden; and Colorado Democratic Party Chair, Pat Waak. The Take 5 program encourages women to reach out to 5 women each who did not vote in 2004 and bring them to the polls in 2006.

Chair Pat Waak said "While Bush, is running from the real issues in Washington by traveling overseas and all over the country, women leaders will be gathering to work out a plan to turn Colorado Blue in 2006. Working mothers and single women are struggling in Colorado, and we need to stand up for them"

The Take 5 program is designed to reach out to single women and working mothers whose issues include financial security, dependable and reliable healthcare, and a secure retirement-all of which have eroded under George W. Bush's administration.
