Coloradoans Also Unhappy with President's Performance

Denver, CO - According to latest Harris Interactive poll, 64% of Americans-including 73% of independents-believe the Bush Administration "generally misleads the American public on current issues to achieve its own ends." The same poll found that 55 percent of Americans believe the indictment of Vice President Cheney's former chief of staff for perjury, obstruction of justice and making false statements is evidence of "a larger problem in the Bush administration." In almost every state across the country President Bush is not fairing any better with a larger than 50 percent disapproval in many of the same states which he carried in the last election. At a time when the President is poised to visit Denver on behalf of Rep. Marilyn Musgrave, President Bush has a disapproval rating of 58%. According to a recent poll done by Survey USA here in Colorado, Coloradoans indicate they are tired of the Republican 'culture of corruption' and are ready for change. [www.surveyusa.com, 11/17/05]

"Americans and Coloradoans are sending a clear message. They are tired of a Republican 'business as usual' attitude which ignores the American people's values and priorities, With high gases prices, rising tuition and prescription drug costs there are real issues confronting our hardworking families.

"Democrats believe that together, America can do better. Across the country Americans are rejecting the politics of spin and distortion. Republicans should do the same and join Democrats in fighting for an agenda that restores honesty in government and puts the American people ahead of the special interests."
