Denver - Senator Wayne Allard and Representative Marilyn Musgrave (CO-04) both took contributions from former Washington lobbyist Jack Abramoff through either his PAC or as an individual contribution according to a recently released report from the Capital Eye, a newsletter of the Center for Responsible Politics. In light of Abramoff's recent guilty plea to fraud, public corruption and tax evasion, Senator Allard and Rep. Musgrave should return their contributions.

"At a time when the culture of corruption continues to spread across our elected officials, Colorado elected officials should distance themselves from Abramoff and others who have indulged in illegal activities," said Colorado Democratic Party Chair Pat Waak. "Coloradoans are concerned about honesty and integrity in government and we fully expect Sen. Allard and Rep. Musgrave to show that they share those concerns by returning tainted donations."
