Denver, Colorado - While his Democratic opponent, Bill Winter, will be part
of the Veterans for a Secure America meeting in Washington, DC, Rep. Tancredo
attend The Minuteman Project rally.
Veterans for a Secure America is made up of 51 veterans who are running for
Congress as Democrats this fall. Colorado has two of those veterans as candidates
in CD5 and CD6, Jay Fawcett and Bill Winter, respectively.
'
Participating in the Minuteman rally will be Barbara Coe, chair of the California
Coalition for Immigration Reform; Jim Gilchrist, co-founder of the Minuteman
Project; John Clark, member of the American Immigration Reform Foundation.
"If we are judged by the company we keep, I would prefer the 'Band of
Brothers,'" said Pat Waak, Colorado Democratic Party Chair. "My father
is a World War II vet; my husband and brother are Viet Nam War veterans, and
my nephew is an Iraqi war vet. I consider them heroes. They would never consider
being associated with the Minutemen."
