From Durango to Erie, "Democratic Reunion" brings Dems together this weekend

DENVER- This weekend, Colorado Democrats will join the nationwide "Democratic Reunion" celebration to mark 100 days until the November election. In communities large and small across the state, Democrats will use the event to continue organizing and mobilizing in an effort to ensure victories this November.

Nationally these events are the latest in a series of volunteer recruitment and voter contact events the Democratic National Committee has sponsored across the country. During the last national organizing day on April 29th, DNC-funded organizers and volunteers knocked on one million doors carrying door hangers with the Democratic Vision for America.

More than 800 events are taking place across the country -- picnics, canvasses, and local barbecues -- all in an effort to get out the Democratic plan for a new direction for our country. Democrats will also pledge to contact 100 voters in their communities by Election Day.

Colorado Party Chairman Pat Waak issued the following statement on the July 29th organizing events:

"The July 29th Colorado Democratic Reunion will be a great opportunity for Democrats to get out and share our message and build on previous Democratic victories in Colorado. We’re working hard to make 2006 a banner year in our state’s history. Our state is at a crossroads. Our job is to remind voters from the Eastern Plains to the Western Slope that we stand with them for a brighter future for all families, businesses and individuals. It is truly an exciting time to be a Democrat and we’re working to build a strong party that will work to get Democrats elected up and down the ticket."

Below is a list of community events across Colorado.
