In light of potential problems with voting machines, absentee voting is the safest bet.

Denver - Today, Denver District Judge Lawrence Manzanares sharply criticized the secretary of state's office for its "abysmal" job of testing voting machines. The judge also chastised the secretary of state for failing to set minimum security standards for the new machines which was, he said, a violation of state law.

Democratic State Party Chair Pat Waak issued the following statement:

"In light of today's decision, I again encourage all voters to vote by absentee ballot in the upcoming election. This is the surest and safest way to have your vote counted."
