Congressman Beauprez has voted with President Bush 98% of
the time
Denver - Congressman Bob Beauprez welcomes his best friend, President George
W. Bush, to Colorado today to raise money for his failing campaign. It's no
surprise that Rep. Beauprez has called on the President to help him raise money.
In the two terms he has served in Congress, Beauprez voted with President Bush
98% of the time. Since Bob Beauprez has been a rubber stamp for George Bush,
the least the President can do is try to prop up his fledgling campaign.
Of course, Bob Beauprez is happy to take the President's money in private,
but he won't appear with him in public. Why is that Bob? Are you embarrassed
to be seen with the President? Are you ashamed of his policies - the policies
you have so strongly supported? Are you afraid voters will notice that you've
voted with the President 98% of the time? What's the problem Bob?
The fact is, Bob Beauprez and George W. Bush have taken this country down the
wrong path for years and now we're paying for it. Indeed, Coloradoans are literally
paying for it. President Bush's failed economic policies have added an average
of $7,738 in debt burden to all Coloradoans. What was Bob Beauprez's response
to this? He voted to raise the national debt ceiling!
"It's telling that Bob Beauprez will take George W. Bush's money in private,
but won't appear with him in public," said Democratic Party Chair Pat Waak.
"His reasons are simple: Bob Beauprez doesn't want to answer for the problems
that he and the President have created.
"Rep. Beauprez may think he can hide with the President in a fancy hotel
today, but the voters aren't fooled. They know who is responsible for the mess
we're in.
"Bob Beauprez talks a lot about accountability, but he and the President
hope the voters won't hold them accountable this November. They're in for a
big surprise."
