Old Guidelines Rub Trainers the Wrong Way
DENVER—State Senator Suzaanne Williams (D-Aurora) provides a full explanation of Senate Bill 24 in a Podcast that you can hear at:

Senator Williams' bill calls for Colorado to do what 42 other states have already done for athletic trainers. Currently athletic trainers in Colorado are required only to be college graduates. SB 24 calls for all athletic trainers in the state to be certified and pass an examination reflecting their expertise.
Colorado athletic trainers are asked to perform amazing feats for young people competing in all sports in the state, yet guidelines for these trainers are woefully out of date and provide glaring loopholes inviting in unqualified candidates. But passage of SB 24 will update and upgrade criteria for just who can call themselves a trainer in Colorado.
