More than 560 participants have registered for tomorrow’s "Bridges
to the 21st Century" statewide transportation summit, Gov. Bill Ritter
announced today.
"Our original goal was 400 participants," Ritter said. "The
fact that more than 560 people have registered demonstrates just how important
the topic of transportation is to the people of Colorado."
Colorado Department of Transportation Executive Director Russell George and
Ritter will kick-off off the all-day summit at 9 a.m. Registration and sign-in
starts at 8 a.m. for the summit, which is being held at the Colorado Convention
Center, Korbel Ballroom, 700 14th St.
Tyler Duvall, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s assistant secretary
for policy, is the keynote speaker. Dr. Marty Wachs of the Rand Corp. also will
be making a presentation during the summit. For the complete agenda and additional

The summit will outline transportation needs and funding challenges at the
state, county and municipal levels. In addition to presentations by Duvall and
Wachs, the agenda includes five breakout sessions:

* Measuring the Pulse. Electronic voting exercise.
* Is Today as Good as it Gets? Presentation on current levels of service and
outlook over the next 10 years.
