State Transportation Panel Meets In Meeker
Gov. Bill Ritter's blue ribbon transportation panel met in Meeker this Friday to hear from local transportation experts about northwest Colorado transportation needs.
Agenda items included presentations about transportation issues in northwest Colorado, particularly issues around rural transportation, energy-industry impacts and funding options. The region includes Mesa, Garfield, Rio Blanco, Moffat, Routt, Jackson, Grand, Eagle, Summit, Lake and Pitkin counties.
Come Join Congressman Mark Udall on the 4th of July At the Greeley Independence Stampede Parade
The July 4th festivities are coming up next week and one way to celebrate is to join Congressman Mark Udall as he walks the parade in Greeley. To join the group, meet at 8:30 A.M. at the University Center on the corner of 20th Street and 10th Avenue in Greeley, Colorado. Look for the Weld County Democrats Float.

Gov. Ritter Launches Summer/Fall Statewide Outreach Tour
Gov. Bill Ritter launches a summer and fall statewide outreach tour on Saturday, visiting two health care facilities and two renewable energy events along the Front Range.
"With the 2007 legislative session now complete, it's important that we spend as much time as possible with the people of Colorado," Gov. Ritter said. "I want to hear their struggles, gather their ideas and work together to craft solutions to those struggles."
The Governor will be visiting Boulder Community Hospital, Clinica Campesina Family Health Services in Lafayette, Eagle Place Town Homes in Lafayette, and the Green Rocks ETown concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
Additional 2007 tour stops are still being scheduled, but tentative plans call for:
* Colorado Springs/Pueblo area in early August
* Northwest Colorado in mid-August
* Western Colorado in early September
* Southwest Colorado and the San Luis Valley in September
* Eastern Plains in mid-October.
The outreach tour will continue around the state in future years as well.
First Lady Jeannie Ritter and Chair Pat Waak Come to Northern Colorado
An evening with the First Lady of Colorado and the Chair of the Colorado Democratic Party will raise money for the state party to continue building the voter file and training precinct workers for the coming campaigns. Jon Slater and Drew Givens of Windsor are opening their home on Tuesday, July 10 from 5:30-7:00 PM. The Host Committee for the evening includes Sen. Brandon Shaffer, Sen., Bob Bacon, Rep. Randy Fischer, Former Rep. Angie Paccione, Betsy Markey, Eric Eidsness, Bev Bacon, Dr. Bob Bennell, Randy Eubanks, Katie Hoffner and Debby Morgan.
