Denver CO - Mark Ferrandino, currently the State Democratic Party Treasurer, was selected by the House District 2 Vacancy Committee to succeed outgoing State Rep. Mike Cerbo who will be taking on the duties as Executive Director of the Colorado AFL-CIO.

Ferrandino, 30, has been the State Party Treasurer since June, 2005. He is a budget analyst for the Colorado Department of Health Care and Financing, a position he will resign from to take on the responsibilities as a State Representative. He also will transition out of his role with the State Democratic Party.

Pat Waak, State Party Chair said, "Mark has done a great job serving as Treasurer for the State Democratic Party, I'm sure he will do a great job representing his constituents in House District 2."

Ferrandino be sworn in to represent House District 2 at a date to be determined.
