Will He Stand with Coloradans? Or With Bush and His Big Oil Buddies?

(Denver) - The Bush Administration today announced that they will continue with their plan to drill on the Roan Plateau even as leaders from across the state are fighting to protect its important natural resources and respect the wishes of the people of the Western Slope. Republican Bob Schaffer, who gets his paycheck from the oil and gas industry, has so far been silent on this development in a critical Colorado issue. Pat Waak, Chair of the Colorado Democratic Party issued the following statement:

"Colorado's leaders are fighting hard to protect the Roan Plateau, despite the opposition of the Bush Administration and Big Oil. Now it's time for Bob Schaffer to speak up – will he stand with Coloradans and the people of the Western Slope, or will he stand with the Bush Administration and his oil and gas cronies yet again?"
