Bob Schaffer ducking the issues |

If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck and bobs like a duck it's
probably Bob (Schaffer) ducking?
The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee DSCC recently produced a video
called “The Disappearing Act,” available at BobSchafferontheIssues.com,
depicting bobbing Bob Schaffer “ducking” the issues. “We could
not have illustrated it better,” said Pat Waak, Chair Colorado Democratic
Party.
“Bob has been ducking questions for 217 days now refusing to express
views on anything that would tie him to the Bush Administration's failed policies.
He can't bring himself to post issues on his web page and he ducks questions
about expanding children's health care (SCHIP) and renewable energy,”
said Waak. “You would think a career politician like Bob Schaffer who
has held political jobs for most of the last thirty years would have an inkling
about issues, but Bob Schaffer apparently doesn’t want Colorado voters
to know what he stands for...or against.”
The Rocky Mountain News recently reported that Schaffer’s opposition
has criticized him for not taking a stand on key issues. http://www.rockymountainnews.com/news/2007/dec/13/dems-attack-schaffer-on-web/
Schaffer has denied numerous requests and opportunities to state where he stands
on the issues. He has refused to tell the people of Colorado his position on
SCHIP, a Children’s Health Insurance Plan that has bipartisan support
and has been vetoed twice by President Bush. “Do you support health insurance
for Colorado’s Children or not?” asked Waak.
When asked if she had heard from Bob Schaffer lately Waak said, “not
a quack.”
