CD 3, 4, and 5 and State Convention Registration Information PDF Print E-mail

The person registering MUST have their credential(s) and (signed) signature card(s) to register.

**Friday Early Registration for State meetings (1:00 to 7:00) and Registration for CD 3, CD 4, and CD 5, and the multi-county HD-s, SD-s, and JD-s being held on Friday (times below):**

Location – the Windows Room at the Double Tree and Un-Ranked Alternate Registration to Friday meetings in the hallway near the meeting rooms starting 1 hour 30 minutes prior to the meeting time.

Delegates and Ranked Alternates for Saturday’s meetings can take advantage of Early Registration. The registration is “General” – there will be no county distinction. Any Delegate (and Ranked Alternate) from any county can be registered at any registration station, the computer program will sort it all out.

The CD registration will be by CD, from 1:00 until 1 ½ hours before the meeting, in the Windows Room. There will be no separation by county. All registration for all meetings for Delegates to any and all meetings will be one stop registration. Ranked Alternates can register at this time also.

Registration for everyone who has not yet registered for a Friday meeting will be moved from Windows to the hallway one hour and 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the meeting. Twenty minutes before the meeting is to start, registration will be temporarily halted so that the Alternates can be seated. After the Alternates are seated, registration will resume. Registration for Friday meetings will close one half hour after the meeting commences.

**Saturday Registration**

Registration opens at 7:00 am and will close at 1:00 pm (The World Arena is imposing a close-down – there will be NO ENTRY to the arena after 1:00)

Delegate and Alternate Registration ARE IN SEPARATE AREAS (look for signage).

There is a “registration zone” for DELEGATES ONLY. Registration for Delegates IS NOT by county (we trust the computer).

Alternate Registration IS (loosely) by county – look for signage. Larger counties will have their own stations; smaller counties will share stations. At each station there will be a “pinch point” where a registrar will assign each alternate a rank code that is a number corresponding to the order in which the alternate reached that point. EVERY ALTERNATE from each county will have had to go through the SAME pinch point. This rank code will be used to seat un-ranked county alternates. We will record the rank code on the signature card and sort the cards lowest to highest numerical order within county, A/C and presidential preference.

At 9:30, Registration in the Delegate Only Area will permanently close. Delegates arriving after that time will be registered in the alternate area. Until 9:30, ONLY Alternate credentials will be accepted at the Alternate Registration area. Anyone holding both a Delegate and Alternate credential will need to register twice – I strongly recommend un-ranked Alternate registration first and then go to the delegate registration area. This procedure is in place to facilitate the Seating and reduce the risk of human error, I am sorry that it causes some people to have to stand in line twice.

Also at 9:30, all registration will be temporarily suspended while we deal with the business of Seating the Alternates. We will Seat the Assembly first, and shortly after 10:00 we will begin to Seat the Convention. All Delegates who have not yet registered should be present at the beginning of the Seating of the Alternates. Once we begin to seat Alternates, Delegates will need to wait until the process for both Assembly and Convention is complete. We will then re-open registration and late arriving Delegates will need to locate the person seated in their stead to reclaim the valid voting credential issued in their name. The one they have arrived with is no longer valid, but they will need to present it to a registrar in order to register and find out who is holding their valid voting credential.

One other point: The rule of Seating an alternate from another presidential group will not go into effect until just before the Convention begins. We will give as much time as reasonable for a late arriving alternate from the impacted PP to be seated before applying that rule. Any Alternate from an opposing PP group who might be Seated for another PP delegate will be told to return just before the Convention begins to see if the credentials are still available.

The process will be so much easier than it sounds.
