Schaffer’s Tax Agenda Rewards Special Interests; Leaves Middle Class Families Behind
DENVER – Bob Schaffer has already proven over and over that he stands
on the side of Big Oil and corporate special interests. So why should
Tax Day be any different?
As Coloradans struggle with a sagging economy and soaring prices for
gas and food, Bob Schaffer yesterday laid out his plan to “help” – more
tax cuts for corporations. [Grand Junction Daily Sentinel, 04/15/08]
Pat Waak chair of the Colorado Democratic Party, issued the following response:
“Colorado’s families are looking for leaders who understand the
economic squeeze they’re facing, but Bob Schaffer’s economic agenda
comes straight from special interests and their lobbyists. At a time
when families are struggling to pay their mortgages and fill their gas
tank, we can’t afford another Senator who hands out tax breaks to
corporations and leaves families to pick up the tab.
“Mark Udall will stand up for Colorado’s families by targeting tax cuts
to the ones who need it most -- working families and the middle class.”
