Biden’s Productive First Week
Denver, CO – President Joe Biden wasted no time getting to work for the American people. In addition to the numerous executive orders he signed on his first day in office, the President also signed executive orders to:
- Increase SNAP benefits by 15%;
- Restore collective bargaining power for federal employees and lay the groundwork for a $15/hour minimum wage;
- Invoke the Defense Production Act to increase vaccination development and distribution and PPE manufacturing.
Morgan Carroll, Chair of the Colorado Democratic Party:
“When the Biden-Harris team said they would be ready to get to work on Day One — they weren’t kidding. It speaks volumes that President Biden’s first actions during his first 72 hours in office have been to help regular people on some of the biggest challenges of our time, and I commend him for wasting no time in getting to work.”
