Gardner Poses with Ivanka Trump While Failing to Deliver COVID Relief
Gardner & Senate Republicans “Wasted” Another Week “Bickering” While Coloradans Suffer, Unemployment Insurance Expires
Denver, CO – The coronavirus continues to take an economic and public health toll on Colorado, but instead of extending unemployment relief for hundreds of thousands of Coloradans that is set to expire today, Senator Cory Gardner spent the day posing for photos with Ivanka Trump on the campaign trail. After two weeks of vacation, Gardner and Senate Republicans “wasted” yet another precious week “infighting” instead of working to extend unemployment payments that have been a lifeline for more than 630,000 Coloradans.
Gardner has faithfully stood by the Trump Administration’s side through their botched coronavirus response, even refusing to call out President Trump’s push to “slow the testing down.” Now he’s doubling down on what Coloradans already know — Gardner will put Trump ahead of Colorado, every single time.
Colorado Democratic Party spokesperson Eli Rosen:
“While hundreds of thousands of Coloradans are relying on Senator Gardner to extend unemployment insurance they’re counting on to get by, Gardner instead posed for pictures with President Trump’s daughter. Senator Gardner has shown yet again that he prioritizes his allegiance to Trump and his own political ambitions ahead of Colorado families. Come November, Coloradans will remember and send him packing.”
