On 8th Anniversary of DACA, Gardner Won’t Stand Up for DREAMers

Gardner Remains Silent As U.S. Supreme Court to Rule on Trump’s Decision to End DACA

Denver, CO –  As we celebrate the 8th anniversary of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, Senator Cory Gardner remains silent as the U.S. Supreme Court is set to rule any day on President Trump’s decision to end the program, risking deportation for hundreds of thousands of DREAMers — including 15,000 in Colorado.

Gardner still refuses to support House-passed legislation to protect DREAMers, voted multiple times to gut or end DACA, and refused to meet with immigration advocates to protect our DREAMers and immigrant communities.

Here is a brief history of Gardner’s failed leadership to protect DREAMers and our immigrant community:

Colorado Democratic Party spokesperson Eli Rosen:

“Senator Gardner is silently standing by Trump’s side as he pushes a reckless agenda that threatens deportation for DREAMers from the only home they’ve ever known. Time and again Gardner shows he is more concerned about pleasing President Trump than working for Coloradans.”
