ICYMI: Heidi Ganahl Says Producing More Fossil Fuels is Her Solution to Climate Change

At yesterday’s 2022 Colorado Water Congress forum, GOP gubernatorial nominee Heidi Ganahl was asked about her plan to combat climate change.

Her bizarre answer was reported by Colorado Politics: “[Ganahl] replied that she would get oil and gas workers back to work.”

The production and use of fossil fuels are a leading cause of climate change, and despite Ganahl’s later attempt to claim that Colorado’s oil and gas is somehow “cleaner” than what is produced elsewhere, Colorado’s air quality is already under threat because of statewide oil and gas production and car emissions.

“Colorado has a year-long fire season, and pollution smog covers the Front Range on a regular basis. Ganahl’s solution to climate change is to make it worse with more of the same politics that caused the climate crisis in the first place.
