Joe O’Dea Claims to be an “Outsider” and Then Leaves CO to Fundraise in DC with Mitch McConnell

“O’Dea is supported by the biggest insiders in Republican politics.”

GOP Senate candidate Joe O’Dea is running TV ads in Colorado claiming to be an “outsider” and a “different kind of Republican” while he was in Washington DC fundraising with corporate lobbyists and Mitch McConnell.

Kyle Clark from 9News highlights that O’Dea is in a “tough spot because his campaign is trying to brand him as a political outsider, not a connected Washington guy” who is backed by “the biggest insiders in Republican politics.”

“Joe O’Dea is showing Coloradans the type of Senator he would be. He’s claiming to be an independent outsider while he’s in DC pledging allegiance to Mitch McConnell and his corporate cronies. Coloradans can’t trust O’Dea because he’ll ultimately be a rubber stamp for McConnell and his far-right agenda.” –Colorado Democratic Party spokesperson Nico Delgado

CLARK: Senate candidate Joe O'Dea is not really talking about tonight's fundraiser with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

O’Dea is in a tough spot because his campaign is trying to brand him as a political outsider, not a connected Washington guy.

But O’Dea is supported by the biggest insiders in Republican politics.

The hosts of tonight's Mitch McConnell Joe O’Dea fundraiser happened to have the exact same names as nine corporate lobbyists in Washington.

The O’Dea campaign did not respond to our multiple requests to find out if tonight's fundraiser with Mitch McConnell is hosted by nine corporate lobbyists, or if the nine names are just a really funny coincidence.
