Joe O’Dea Ditches Coloradans to Cozy Up to National Republicans & Mitch McConnell
GOP Senate candidate Joe O’Dea is pressing pause on his empty campaign promise to “put country over party” this week and instead is ditching Coloradans to fundraise with Rick Scott and a slate of MAGA candidates in Miami, and Mitch McConnell in Washington DC.
Since McConnell’s endorsement, O’Dea has wasted no time in proving to Coloradans that he would just be another rubber stamp for the MAGA agenda. When asked to clarify where he disagrees with Mitch McConnell, O’Dea told 9News “There’s a lot of things that we probably do agree on. I’m a conservative.”
He followed McConnell’s lead and opposed the Inflation Reduction Act. O’Dea also praised McConnell and said “[Mitch McConnell] has done some great things for our country” the same week the NRSC ran a TV ad in Colorado.
In an opinion piece from Colorado Newsline, former Obama administration staffer Marie Aberger warns Coloradans of Mitch McConnell’s endorsement of Joe O’Dea stating “McConnell is bad for Coloradans. And O’Dea will be, too.”
O’Dea would give McConnell the Republican majority he needs to pass a nationwide abortion ban, cut taxes for the rich, and put Social Security at risk. Colorado Democrats released a video to highlight that O’Dea will be McConnell’s latest yes-man instead of a voice for Colorado.
