MAGA Heidi Conspiracies Countdown DAY 9: Facebook Fallacies

The Colorado Democratic Party is drawing attention to Heidi Ganahl’s dangerous commitment to conspiracies in a countdown to Election Day, continuing with Day 9: Facebook Fallacies.

Ganahl claimed that Meta, owner of Facebook, was “blocking” her ads and other content on the social media network on several local right-wing radio appearances.

When 9NEWS contacted Ganahl’s campaign about the supposed conspiracy, she again claimed that Meta was censoring their campaign ads without evidence.

According to Meta, the Ganahl campaign had simply failed to add a legally required disclaimer to their content.

Ganahl is far from the first Republican to claim they’re being censored on social media. But fact checkers have thoroughly debunked these claims, which stem from far-right Republicans’ goal of forcing social media platforms to allow misinformation, conspiracy theories, and hate speech to live and spread unchecked on their platforms.
