Colorado Democratic Party Statement On Hickenlooper’s Decisive Victory in First U.S. Senate Debate

Denver, CO - Following the first Colorado U.S. Senate debate tonight, Colorado Democratic Party Chair Morgan Carroll released the following statement:

“It’s refreshing to see what a U.S. Senator who will represent the needs of Coloradans, not Donald Trump and the corporate special interests, looks like. That’s John Hickenlooper.

“Tonight made clear that John Hickenlooper is the U.S. Senator that Coloradans deserve — one who believes in science, will fight to expand health care and protect people with pre-existing conditions, and who will protect our majestic public lands. Senator Gardner continued to lob baseless attacks because he cannot defend his own record of standing by President Trump as he botched the response to the coronavirus, tries to rip health care from hundreds of thousands of Coloradans, and sells out our public lands to corporate polluters. 

“Coloradans are fed up with Senator Gardner’s deception and failure and are excited to elect John Hickenlooper to the U.S. Senate in 32 days. Let’s do this!”
