Colorado Dems Statement re: Electors Casting Votes for Joe Biden

Denver, CO - The Colorado Democratic Party released the following statement following Colorado’s nine presidential electors casting the state’s electoral college votes for President-elect Joe Biden.

“The wheels of democracy moved forward as our founders intended today. No amount of sham lawsuits and conspiracy theories being pushed by Republicans across the country can change the fact that Joe Biden was duly elected as President of the United States, and the votes cast by the electors today have sealed that decision made by the American people. Now, it is my hope that we as a country can turn the page with decency and leadership returned to the White House, and we can build a better future for everyone.

“I want to express my profound gratitude to the nine Coloradans who stepped up to represent their communities to the Electoral College today. Our nine electors are patriots who did their civic duty and participated in this crucial component of the peaceful transfer of power in our democracy, and they are to be commended for their service.”
