Gardner Should Call on GOP to Cancel August Recess & Get to Work to Keep Colorado Communities Safe

Colorado Democratic Party Chair Morgan Carroll released the following statement calling on U.S. Senator Cory Gardner to join Michael Bennet in demanding Republican Majority Leader Mitch McConnell suspend August recess to act immediately to keep our communities safe:“This weekend’s tragedies in El Paso and Dayton are painfully familiar for far too many Coloradans who will always remember Columbine, Aurora, Colorado Springs, Centennial, Highlands Ranch, and the thousands of other lives that have been lost to gun violence. Enough is enough. Senator Gardner needs to join Senator Bennet in calling for Mitch McConnell to bring the U.S. Senate back to session and get to work on passing legislation to keep our communities safe.”
