Denver, CO – Colorado Politics broke news that Colorado state Representative Ron Hanks will upend a crowded GOP U.S. Senate primary. Earlier this year, Hanks joined the thousands of Trump-supporting insurrectionists at the Capitol.

Colorado Democratic Party Chair Morgan Carroll reacted with the following statement:

“State Representative Ron Hanks participated in the U.S. Capitol riot on January 6th and joked about lynching in the 2021 legislative session. He is a right wing extremist and insurrectionist. Hank’s entry into the crowded GOP primary is proof of Trump’s strong influence over the Colorado Republican Party.”
