Represent your community!
Become a Democratic delegate and support your favorite candidates for office up and down the ballot!

In 2024, you have an opportunity to help represent your community in choosing the candidates who will compete for the Democratic nomination in races up and down the ballot! This is a unique and special way to make your voice heard and determine the future of your community, our state, and our country. Whether your passion is to end income inequality, fight climate change, protect our democracy, end gun violence, or bring down the high cost of health care, this process is for you.

We hope you’ll join us by stepping up to support your favorite candidates for President of the United States, the University of Colorado Regent At-Large (Go Buffs!), and state/local offices across the state!

Colorado Democrats will kick off the 2024 election season on March 5, 2024 by holding its presidential primary election.

From March 5 to the 9th, we’ll hold gatherings in your community called precinct caucuses where you can meet your neighborhoods, help us shape our policy platform, and support your favorite candidates by becoming a delegate for a variety of races up and down the ballot. From there, counties, and Congressional districts

You could even be elected by 2,000 of your fellow Democrats to join us in Chicago for the Democratic National Convention in August for a week of fun and politics in the Windy City.

This website will be regularly updated with tips, tools, and updates along the way so that you have every resource available to you to stand up for your community and become a Democratic delegate in 2024.

How To Get Involved…

Getting involved in 2024 will be easier than ever before, and we know this process can feel complicated: our goal is to make this accessible to everyone regardless of experience level.

Check out the different ways you can get involved below:

To become a State Assembly or State Convention delegate: The State Assembly and State Convention will each have 2,000 delegates from around the state, and we will convene virtually on April 13, 2024. Delegates may serve at both State Assembly & State Convention, but are not required to!

  1. State Assembly delegates will help choose primary ballot placement for candidates for CU Regent At-Large. Delegates to help choose primary ballot placement for candidates for State House, State Senate, Judicial District, and Members of Congress will be chosen at their county assembly after county caucuses, and will complete their work prior to the State Assembly virtually on April 13, 2024 (dates to be determined – stay tuned!).

  2. State Convention delegates will elect our Democratic National Convention delegates, as well as our three elected members to represent Colorado on the Democratic National Committee for a four-year term, at the State Convention. The Democratic National Convention delegates are bound to the proportional results of the presidential primary on March 5, 2024. The State Convention will also happen virtually on April 13, 2024.
